Early in March 2016, that’s when my son came into the world.

I remember his vitals going up and down and me having a fever during delivery. The hospital ran every test they could and found both of us to be completely healthy.

To be on the safe side they decided to keep him under observation for 5 days in the NICU.  I remember leaving the hospital, having just met this little boy and bawling because I couldn’t take him home.  In retrospect, I count myself lucky for having a few uninterrupted sleep days.

Each day I visited him, held him, fed him and couldn’t believe I made this little person.  My inner monologue vowed to do everything in my power to give him the best chances at living a fruitful, satisfying and healthy life.

After day 5 he was home and as each mommy issue arose, I found a mommy solution.  Suddenly I had a 6-month-old with outrageous diaper rash that I couldn’t get rid of and it broke my heart when he would scream in pain during cleaning.

Finally, I discovered the power of water and boy did it make a difference. I got two designated washcloths and two designated BPA free plastic containers.  Whenever I saw even the slightness hint of redness, I changed him using water and not wipes, I made sure to dry the area by dabbing a dry cloth and poof…..his rash was gone within a day or so. The process worked......but it could be better, so I set out to make it better.
